We've all had a day where we felt exhausted after a hard shift at work. Luckily for me on those days I get to drive down to the beach in my van, open my back doors, and listen to the ocean. Sounds picturesque right? Well, take a look at my Instagram story that shows van-life is not always as polished as you might be led to believe ~

I chose to take you all on a night in the van because I wanted to dispel some of the narratives surrounding this lifestyle. It is not always sunsets and beautiful views, sometimes it is pitch black nights because you got off work late. Speaking of work, sometimes van-life is not about finding a job where you can work remote while traveling or being a YouTuber and making money off of ads. Sometimes, it is about working a stressful job for half a year so you can save some money to spend the other half traveling.

I wanted to show things from my perspective. Gritty, clumsy, imperfect memories where I am not always smiling. While building out my van I have often been frustrated in the nonchalant approach to van-life on social media. It is all scripted, shot, and edited with no frustration or no tears in sight and I promise you there are tears. So, I wanted to show that a night in the van is almost like a night at your house, except on wheels. Long days still require self-care and chicken nuggets and sometimes a good friend to join you on your journey. #MyAppStateSMStory
