Billie Values Me- My Favorite Value Story

Let's talk about the ad Billie ran in 2018 called "Project Body Hair".

While this ad is almost three years old there is still a lot other razor and beauty companies could learn from it.

Billie became the first company to show body hair on women in 100 years. Not only were they showing it, but they were also praising it. With statements saying “however, whenever, if ever, you want to shave we’ll be here”. This ad is a great value story because Billie is making it clear that their company values the decisions of those who choose not to shave. Their message is clear that they support the individuals right to choose how, when, or if they decide to remove body hair.

Unlike other razor ads where women are almost strictly seen in the middle of shaving or seen enjoying their smooth legs after, Billie spends the first half of this ad putting body hair on display. In fact, the act of shaving or even a razor being shown makes up only 7 seconds of the 55 second ad.

Billie is making the statement that they are not going to shame the women who don’t use their product. Instead, they are going to empower all women and their choices.

This is a great value story because this was not just an ad for their product but a declaration that speaks on exactly what Billie stands for. They are saying no one ever has to shave and that is alright, but if you ever decide you want to, they are there for you.
